Our family relocated to the Chesapeake Bay region in 2017 following the historic restoration of our home in Mathews, Virginia. Envisioned and pioneered by Frank and Pat Schmidt, Tidewater Mushrooms is a true environmentalist’s passion project utilizing sustainable agriculture in our local community. Frank’s background in geology, earth science, and forest studies proved to be a natural lead into “retirement” in the Tidewater.
